Japan's leading research institute RIKEN has joined forces with Fujitsu and Nvidia to develop FugakuNEXT, a groundbreaking supercomputer designed to propel scientific innovation. The hybrid AI-HPC system will combine FUJITSU-MONAKA-X CPUs with NVIDIA's NVLink Fusion technology, targeting complex computational challenges.
The initiative, unveiled at a Tokyo ceremony on August 22, 2025, signals Japan's strategic push for technological sovereignty in high-performance computing.
